Supervisory Training We help supervisors understand the basic elements of team building, coaching, conflict management and other supervisory skills.
Background
Many line workers are promoted to positions of authority, but have no idea of how to lead those they must supervise. They are not clear on how to 'manage,' what a team is, how to coach or deal with issues like holding effective team meetings, time management, conflict management, or issues surrounding human resources. As a result, they are often ineffective and have a negative impact on their subordinates, and their productivity, without knowing it.
After an assessment of the needs of the supervisors, we design a highly interactive program to meet those needs within work schedules and plant locations.
Programs can be designed around the following:
- Communication skills (listening & speaking)
- Solving problems creatively (SPIN system)
- Motivating (Maslow, survey results, praising)
- Styles of supervision (leadership vs. management)
- Team building
- Time management (Franklin)
- Leading groups (meeting skills)
- Behavioral preferences (Myers-Briggs)
- Developing negotiation skills
- Handling conflict resolution
- Preventing harassment
- Planning
- Managing diversity
- Understanding employment law
- Applying appropriate interviewing techniques
- Evaluating job performance
- Managing stress
- Separating Employees With Dignity
